No, appointments are confirmed by the telephone company which manages the hospital appointments, i.e. 14741.
You can arrive about 40 minutes prior your appointment. Please note that the earliest confirmation of your appointment is (1) hour before your appointment time.
It depends on the rank of the doctor (Director, Supervisor A' or B', Lecturer, etc.). The cost ranges from 36 to 72 Euros.
Each clinic/department has a designated controller to serve the needs of patients accordingly.
Patients covered by Social Security
The patient should bring with him/her his/her identity card, his/her AMKA (Social Security Number) and his/her insurance card. In this case, the hospitalisation is fully covered by the patient's insurance fund.
EU citizens seeking treatment that is not usually available in their own country should first contact their local social security in the Member State they come from to apply for an E112/S2 form. This form will allow them to access our hospital's health services free of charge for their course of treatment.
Patients not covered by a Social Security
In the case of a patient who is not covered by social security, he/she has to follow the steps mentioned below:
Α. In the case of Greek citizen, he must present his identity card and his AMKA (Social Security Number) together with the medical certificate of the referring doctor.
Β. In the case of a citizen of a third country outside the EU., and resides legally and permanently in Greece, he/she must present his/her passport and valid residence permit together with the medical opinion of the referring doctor.
Γ. In the case of EU citizen., who resides permanently in Greece, in addition to the medical certificate of the referring doctor, he/she must have his/her passport, his/her AMKA and prove his/her permanent residence in Greece.
D. In the case of refugee, he/she must present the Asylum Applicant's Card, passport (if available) and AMKA (if available).
X-rays, as well as CT and MRI scans, can be provided on CD:
α) By application to secretariat of the radiology department, for those who are outpatients,
b) By application to Archive of the Hospital (level -1) for those who are short-stay patients or have been hospitalized in the hospital.

The collection of the test results is carried out by the Citizen Service Office by the patient himself or by an authorised person. If there are tests that are not covered by EOPYY, the patient pays for the cost of the tests.
The same applies to uninsured patients.
If the doctor recommended sick leave during your visit to the emergency department, he or she will give you a "Recommendation for Sick Leave" form, which will indicate the days of leave. You will use this form to apply to your insurance provider.
You should have with you:
- Identities or passports of parents
- Marriage certificate (if you are married) or cohabitation agreement
- Certificate of marital status of both parents (if you are registered in different municipalities)
- Act determining the surname of your child (if it is your first child)
- VAT number of both parents
- Social security number of both parents
