The Clinic today
Since 2019, Dr. Tsiridis is the Professor/Director of the AUTh Orthopaedic Clinic of the Papageorgiou General Hospital, and Head of the Division of Arthroplasty and Hip & Knee Replacement, as well as Visiting Full Professor at University College of London (UCL).
He is also President of the Division of Hip and Knee Surgery of the Hellenic Orthopaedic Society and Chairman of the International Relations Committee of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
He is the founder and head of International Centre for Arthroplasty and Robotic Orthopaedic Surgery ICAROS (International Center For Arthroplasty & Robotic Orthopaedic Surgery).
Mr. Tsiridis is also Secretary General of the European Hip Orthopaedic Society and Attaché of Royal College of Surgeons of England (FRCS) and College of Surgeons of America (FACS).
He worked as Director of the NHS and Professor of Orthopaedics at the Universities of Leeds and Imperial College of London in Britain specialised in arthroplasty and revision of the hip and knee for 9 years (2005-2014).
He was specialised in Orthopaedic Surgery entirely in London in one of the most important University Hospitals in the world in the field of Orthopaedics, the Stanmore Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital-of the University College of London (1995-2002) and retrained in arthroplasty at Harvard (MGH and Children's Hospitals) and the Boston University Medical Center in Boston, USA and in Exeter (2002-2005). He holds a Master's degree in Orthopaedic Surgery. (MSc Orth) from the University College of London and a doctorate degree (PhD) from the Kings College of London and Guy's-King's-St Thomas' GKT Medical School (top 10 Universities in the world).
He is an award-winning graduate of the Athens Medical School (1992) and served in the special forces-paratroopers of the Greek Army (1992-94) and his rural service in Northern Greece (1994-95).
Mr. Tsiridis is also has performed a large number of arthroplasties operations and hip and knee revisions specializing in minimally invasive surgery (MIS) and robotic arthroplasty with an average of 500 operations per year and more of 11,500 since 1994.. He is also specialised in pelvic-cotylus surgery and the treatment of major trauma in adults and children, arthroscopy and biological therapies.
He has supervised 20 master's and doctoral theses and has published more than 220 scientific papers in prestigious international medical journals of PubMed, attracting around 10,000 citations and h=47(2020). His book entitled "The Adult Hip Master Case Series And Techniques" Springer-Nature received 12,000 downloads in its first year of publication (2019) and was named one of the Springer's most read surgical books.
He runs the Research Centre for Orthopaedic and Regenerative Medicine at the Centre for Interdisciplinarity and Innovation KEDEK of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki and the Hip-Knee Arthroplasty Registration Centre which is unique in Greece. He has received the International Hippocratic Foundation Award as one of the 10 first graduates of the Athens Medical School (1992) and has been a fellow of the State Scholarship Foundation (1986-92) and the Onassis Foundation (1999-2002). He has received the prestigious international Rothman-Ranawat surgical awards from the American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery and Latta from the British Academy of Orthopaedic Surgery as well as a large number of distinctions and awards for clinical and research excellence and has attracte research funding of 2.5 million euros in his career to date.

Educational work
Undergraduate
The Orthopaedics course is attended by more than 120 students per year /4th year of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, both with clinical and lectures.
The selected undergraduate course "Metabolic Bone Diseases" trains annually about 150 students on the 4th year of the Medical School of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
Postgraduate
Since 2015, the Clinic has been organizing the Interdepartmental Postgraduate Program "Sport and Health", in collaboration with the Laboratory of Anatomy and the Department of Physical Education of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, which accepts 40 postgraduate students every year. http://www.master-sport-health.gr/

Unique in Greece, the only hip and knee arthroplasty registration centre with long-term monitoring. The recording is done according to the rules of GDPR and is a research project of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki funded from the research program of Professor Tsiridis. The center is a guarantee of quality of services in Greece and Internationally and its results are recognized by all reputable International journals and organizations.
COMBINED TRAINING PROGRAM IN ORTHOPAEDICS (CTPO)
- Weekly CTPO is held with the participation of the clinicians: C University Orthopaedic Hospital Papageorgiou, B University Orthopaedic Hospital Papageorgiou, B University Orthopaedic Hospital C. Genetas, 1st Orthopaedics 424 GNSH, 2nd Orthopaedics 424 GNSH, Hippocrates Orthopaedics, Alexandroupolis University Hospital Clinic.
- Twice a week, a multiple choice question course for residents is held to prepare them for specialty exams.
- All residents will have the opportunity to do an MSc or PhD within their training in our clinic, and it is mandatory to publish one or two papers during their training.
- LogBook: the recording of procedures is mandatory and will be checked and signed by the Director of the clinic.
