Ι. CHURCH OF SAINT GEORGIO AND 20 SAINTS ANARGYRON
The construction of the church was done in 1998 with a donation from the Papageorgiou Foundation, based on a plan by the architect Vassilis Papas. The imposing frescoes that adorn the interior of the Church are the work of the master of hagiography Kostas Georgiadis, with the kind sponsorship of Mr. Prodromos Emfietzoglou.
On March 19, 2000, the church was inaugurated by the Bishop of Neapolis and Stavropolis, the current Blessed Dionysios.
The chapel is a place of worship and prayer for patients, visitors and employees of the Hospital, both during the great feasts of Christianity, the feasts of the Saints to whom it is dedicated, and throughout the year with a program of Holy Masses and Divine Liturgy.
The Metropolis of Neapolis and Stavropolis, in the context of its wide pastoral ministry and ecclesiastical offer, has been present for many years through His Eminence Metropolitan Barnabas, who, accompanied by clergy, visits our Hospital, presiding at the celebration of the Holy Sacraments for the support and blessing of the faithful.
A special presence in the worship celebrations is the participation of the Hospital's staff singing church hymns under the guidance of the Church's chaplain, Archimandrite George Dimopoulos.
