Mission

 

Brief Background

According to the internal regulations of Papageorgiou General Hospital, the existence of a Quality Control Department is distinguished by its own hierarchical structure and is hierarchically equal to the other six services. In its full development, the Quality Control Directorate may be structured into departments such as: 1. Document management, Internal Auditing, Information security 2. Evaluation of user satisfaction.

Since May 2003, the Directorate was activated with the recruitment of specialized personnel, while today oprates and is directly subordinated to the General Directorate of the Hospital.

 

Mission & Objectives

The mission of this department is "the introduction, support and coordination of quality management initiatives at Papageorgiou General Hospital".

In particular, the purposes of the department are discussed in the following paragraphs:

  1. the coaching of departments, clinics, laboratories for the implementation of Quality Management Systems (QMS), which can be certified according to ISO 9001
  2. supporting and guiding certified departments to maintain their ISO 9001 quality certificate through continuous improvement of their Quality Management Systems
  3. the coordination of health service user satisfaction surveys, as well as the support of fragmented initiatives to review the opinion of specific user groups
  4. settling complaints from patients and caregivers in cooperation with the Directorate General and the Administrative Service
  5. the training of staff in the modern principles of Total Quality Management
  6. the introduction of modern quality management tools and the adoption in day to day practice

    2. Compilation of the "Guide of the Insurance Institutions" - Outpatient Clinics

    4. Survey to assess the quality of services B' MENN: the opinion of parents
    5. Design, implementation and continuous improvement of the EMS in the Nephrology Department - Certification ISO 9001
    6. Design, implementation and continuous improvement of the EMS in the Emergency Department - Certification ISO 9001
    7. Design, implementation and continuous improvement of the EMS in the Radiology Laboratory - Certification ISO 9001
    8. Design, implementation and continuous improvement of the EMS in the Department of Medical Physics/Radiophysics - Certification ISO 9001
    9. Design, implementation and continuous improvement of the EMS in the University Clinic of Pathological Oncology - Certification ISO 9001
